I'm a PRINCE2 Agile® certified IT professional with experience delivering software solutions across banking and insurance. My background spans the full SDLC — from requirements and design through to development, testing, and delivery.
On the technical side, I work primarily with COBOL on IBM i and Mainframe platforms. Over the years I've taken on different roles — writing and maintaining core systems as an analyst programmer, leading small teams, and providing project support alongside PMs on change and risk management.
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering) from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and have been working in the industry since 2008.
Across several roles since 2008, I've worked in four main areas.
Worked on credit card platforms running on IBM i and Mainframe. Day-to-day involved writing and maintaining COBOL programs for transaction processing, billing cycles, and customer statement generation.
Worked on the DXC insurance system covering policy administration and claims processing. Involved in development and support across the policy lifecycle — from inception through to claims settlement.
Contributed to data warehouse initiatives — mainly writing ETL routines to extract and transform data from Mainframe source systems for reporting and management information purposes.
Worked on post-trade processing systems — trade settlement, clearing, and custody. Also involved in IWS/TWS job scheduling to support end-of-day batch runs with strict market cut-off deadlines.
Outside of work, I run a small home lab on a single Proxmox PVE host. It's nothing elaborate — just a personal setup to stay hands-on and self-host a few useful services through LXC containers and VMs.

Tailscale for private mesh network access. Cloudflare Tunnel (cloudflared) to expose services without opening ports.
Jellyfin for media. CloudPanel for web hosting. Cloudron for app management — running Guacamole (remote desktop) and Bitwarden (passwords).
VMs running Red Hat Enterprise Linux and IBM DB2 — mainly to keep enterprise skills practised outside of work.
